My husband and I have a second residence in Thailand, located near the sea between Pattaya and Sattahip. There you can see a lot of street dogs misery, even if you’re not accustomed to look for it and many tourists just don’t notice.
After a while I heard of some organisations trying to help these dogs, in most cases managed by “farangs” (foreigners) living in Thailand.
In the region of Pattaya “tourist paradise” there is no established organisation. So I was more than happy when I met Karin from Care for Dogs, we met via internet.
Through communication with another volunteer Michael, friendships developed, creating a bond between countries & time zones.
Because of my professional and private living conditions, I’m limited in the ways I can help but I try with certain Projects regarding design of presentations for example & calls for sponsors, as I’m an expert in MS Powerpoint.
So I have a good feeling, even when I cannot help “on hand” around my home in Ban Amphur, Thailand where there is a Thai managed Shelter -no vet involved – 1000 residents and thousands more suffering on the streets.
But at least I can do a little even from far away out of Germany, assisting with some background office work, flyer creation, presentations or proof reading, etc..
CfD involves volunteers regarding their specific talent and interest to get the best benefit for all (especially the doggies) and be part of a fantastic team work.
The animals brought us together.
