Hands on Volunteers
|
I feel really fortunate that I am able to spend my days doing something so fulfilling and worthwhile. I enjoy spending my time just loving and cuddling our dogs and taking time to restore their confidence in humans. Some have been through untold traumas or are family pets that have just been abandoned on the streets or in Temples so its wonderful to see them settle into the dog family groups here and get a feeling of security again. |

To be able to save as many dogs as possible from these situations and give them a better life full of the love, care and compassion that they deserve fills me with a strong feeling of contentment. To see puppies with little hope go from starvation & weakness to full of life and dogs that shivered in fear at any sudden movement suddenly so affectionate after we rescue them or distemper cases with little or no hope make a full recovery, makes all our hard work at Care for Dogs so worthwhile. |

I love doing this work and my greatest reward is to see those dogs happy and healthy, in part, because of my efforts to give them the things that they need. |

Every Wednesday afternoon I stay at the shelter with the dogs. The whole week I am looking forward to this. When I park the car the big hello begins already. |

As a volunteer, I am involved with translation, promotion of Care for Dogs through Thai medias and helping to raising funds. Some times, I get involved in rescuing dogs and cats that are in danger and helping the villagers to transport dogs to the vet for sterilization. |

Gentle in nature, forever in need of love, and living at the mercy of the people and surroundings around them have endeared me to the plight of the street dog. For once in my life I finally found a passion that felt reciprocal in its rewards, its pains and its fight. When I see a street dog alone, bleeding and emancipated in the middle of a bustling crowd not hated, not loved, not seen, but treated with indifference, this is what I can no longer turn away from. |

Animals love you unconditionally. They forgive us humans for starving them, beating them and ignoring them. They need help and they need a voice. It’s so hard to describe in words how moving and rewarding it is for me to work alongside the dogs and pups at care for dogs. |

CfD involves volunteers regarding their specific talent and interest to get the best benefit for all (especially the doggies) and be part of a fantastic team work. |
